The Life of Samuel Johnson LL D by James Boswell Esq.
Found by Andrew Pearson who says:
“I can’t remember when I bought this book. It was perhaps at Jermy &
Westerman’s in Nottingham, around 1978. Or maybe not. Almost all of
the pictures which Farrar Ranson found and pasted into the book are
still there, you can see two of them in the scan of the title page
(they are stuck in with stamp edging, those victorian stamps had good
glue on them).”
